WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER LEAGUE
The Churchland Development Academy is an instructional program designed for enthusiastic U7 and U8 players and coaches. Our mission is to provide a fun, high-quality soccer environment where players can grow their skills, coordination, and understanding of the game.
Our Objectives
At the Development Academy, we focus on creating an age-appropriate environment that encourages
- Learning and skill development
- Creative thinking and problem solving
- Love for the game of soccer
With a strong foundation in place, players and coaches can progress into the club’s Recreation, Advanced, and Travel programs. Each season, we also invite new coaches to join the Academy framework and grow alongside their teams under the guidance of our technical staff.
Training & Games
- Training Sessions: Twice weekly, with age-appropriate technical instruction and small-sided scrimmages led by Academy Staff and Coaches.
- Games: Held on Saturdays at Churchland Soccer Fields. Matches focus on reinforcing skills developed during the week. While winning and losing are part of the fame, our priority is player development and building a solid soccer foundation.
Who Can Join?
Everyone! There are no try-outs for the Development Academy.
Curriculum
Our U7 and U8 curriculum is designed to build essential soccer skills while keeping the game fun and engaging. Focus areas include:
- Technical Skills: Ball control, turns, attacking moves, passing, and receiving.
- Core Movement Skills: Agility, balance, and coordination
- Game Awareness: Decision-making through small-sided games, encouraging more touches, creatiity, and problem-solving.
Program Fees
$115 per season (includes Coaching Fee and uniform)
