CSL offers soccer programs for kids and adults.

Churchland Soccer League (CSL) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, established in 2008 in Portsmouth, Virginia. CSL offers soccer programs for citizens of varying abilities and ages in the city limits of Portsmouth, though our programming is open to anyone in the region. CSL programs are intended to be fun programs that develop good character, mental and physical fitness, and interpersonal skills through soccer activities. Sportsmanship, social skills, and self-esteem are developed by player participation and regular interaction with volunteer and professional coaches.

CSL operates under the guidelines of the governing bodies of soccer including but not limited to Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), United States Soccer Federation (USSF), United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA), Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA), and or their affiliated organizations.

Provide access to amateur and semi-pro soccer, for youth and adults.  CSL shall promote soccer to players and parents, and aid in the education and development of soccer players, coaches, referees, and related volunteers.

1. Where is the office located and how do I reach you?

   The CSL Fields and Clubhouse are located at 4100 Cedar Lane, Portsmouth, VA 23703.  During soccer season, a Board Member is present at the Clubhouse during practices, typically Monday - Friday from 5pm to 8pm, and on games days until the last scheduled game ends.  CSL is operated by a volunteer board, therefore, during the off season, the Clubhouse is generally closed.  The best way to reach us is by email at [email protected].  Phone messages can be left at 757-484-4209, and are retrieved weekly.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   
   

2. How do I register for a CSL Program?

3. What is the minimum age at which my child can begin playing?

   2 1/2 years old!  We offer programs for all ages beginning with our U3/4 recreation program (for kids at least 2 1/2 years old) up through the Adult Leagues for players 19+.  We have programs for all skill levels.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

4. Do you offer financial aid?

   CSL believes that every child, regardless of family financial situation, should have the opportunity to play soccer.  Players who demonstrate financial need are eligible for a discount up to 25% on CSL programs.  This financial assistance will help to offset the cost of registration, however it will not include costs associated with uniforms, equipment or travel expenses.   Financial assistance funds are limited and will be awarded on a season-to-season case-by-case basis, as applications are received.
